Non-Violence Education Groups for Men

RAVEN’s groups for men specialize in working with men who have been abusive to their female loved ones (wife, girlfriend, etc). Some men come to RAVEN’s program because they have been ordered to do so by the court; others come on their own or through other referral sources. It is RAVEN’s goal that men will leave the program with a better sense of what it means to be a man, increased self-awareness about their behaviors, and alternative, non-violent skills and tools to use in their relationships.

Groups meet weekly for two hours. The program is designed to be approximately 48 weeks. Groups are scheduled seven days a week, including evening, day and weekend times. Groups include both an educational or class component, and a more interactive component – where men discuss real situations and put the information they are learning into practice. Whenever possible, groups are co-facilitated by a male and a female.

The men that come to RAVEN are a diverse group and represent a variety of ages and backgrounds.
