Who are RAVEN volunteers?
RAVEN volunteers are individuals who are committed to ending men’s violence against women. They may include former program participants, women’s advocates, social service professionals, students, retired persons, or anyone looking to give back to the community.
With so many places to volunteer, why should I choose RAVEN?
RAVEN offers individuals the opportunity to gain hands on experience working directly with men in a group or individual setting. RAVEN offers a highly structured volunteer training and certification program that supports you in being the best volunteer you can be. It is a chance to not only enhance one’s résumé, but is also a great way to gain knowledge and skill. And, we offer flexible opportunities for hours – daytime, evenings & weekends!
How do I become a RAVEN volunteer?
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with RAVEN's adult or youth program, your first step is to contact our office for an application. After the application and interview process, the next step is our initial training which takes place in January, May and September each year. Our training is extensive and addresses various domestic violence topics as well as practical information on facilitating group sessions, interviewing, and program development.
To become a volunteer in administrative, development or as a board member with RAVEN, please call the RAVEN office and ask to speak with the Executive Director.
